- Once installed, keep the windows closed for 24 hours to allow the set to settle into the channel
The whole job
- Wind the window fully downAll the way, so the channel is clear along its whole length and nothing is trapped when you start.
- Wipe the channelClean along the inside of the rubber channel. Grit in there is what makes a deflector sit proud and whistle later.
- Start at the frontSlide the deflector's lip into the channel at the front corner and seat about an inch of it. That corner sets the line for the rest.
- Work along the lengthPress the lip in a few inches at a time, working towards the back. It should go in with steady thumb pressure — if a section resists, back up and re-seat rather than forcing it.
- Raise the window slowlyWind it up by hand-speed the first time and watch that it closes fully against the seal. Then do the same on the other side.
Worth knowing
- If the window will not close the last few millimetres, the deflector is not fully seated somewhere along its length. Lower the glass and press that section home rather than forcing the switch.
- Keep the windows shut for the first 24 hours so the set settles into the channel, and leave the car wash for 24 hours too.
